Companies usually begin to determine the purpose of their presence and the reasons why their owners did so, which is usually expressed through the " corporate mission statement". The next strategic phase comes by defining the "corporate vision" which answers the question: where will the company be in the future. The "corporate values" came to address the question: How will the desired goal be reached? Although the words contained in the list of values of the company are simple, the difficulty is to turn them into a complete belief in the stakeholders, through which the day-to-day work is carried out.

 

The corporate values can be defined as positive and comprehensive axes that expect the rest of the individuals to act on their impact. It is therefore a set of guiding beliefs underlying day-to-day work, which affect not only the internal affairs of the company, but also reach out to other stakeholders and determine the expected values.

1.             Understand the corporate mission and the strategic objectives it seeks to achieve.

2.             Choose the right people to form a team.

3.             Monitor current values.

4.             Brainstorming process which includes, who are we? What's pushing us? What are the values that distinguish us from competitors?

5.             Assemble more similar ideas and look for common aspects.

6.             These constituent values are rated by the best and most interesting of the team.

7.             Choose the best values, are those values realistic, and suit the company's daily business?

8.             Review values, including:

·        Are the values chosen based on the company's day-to-day business?

·        Do the values chosen do not harm society?

·        Do values represent what a company represents?

·        Are the values chosen linked to the company's objectives?

·        Have minimum required values been selected?

·        What happens if one of those selected values is removed? Will the company be affected?

·        Have employees participated in the value-setting process?

·        Do company values still make sense?

The values of the company can be a source of knowledge of the weaknesses in the business of some companies, after listing the values enjoyed by those institutions in exchange for not focusing on others or ignoring them for any reason.

 

Finally, despite the importance of the company's values in its stability and good management of its business, many companies are still not convinced of the importance of values, and their work in selecting some positive values as resonant slogans for the company. It is not surprising that stakeholders see some actions from companies that contradict or contradict their raised slogans, because they do not believe in those values that have been established! Through the development of individuals in general and openness to business, it is difficult to try to mislead employees by carrying out resonant slogans that have nothing to do with reality, the values of the institution must represent the actions of individuals realistically and not what they want to get.
